Mark your calendar for our B.O.S. Maker Series starting March 2021. The five-part webinar series will spark curiosity amongst educators who work with community organizations to create learning opportunities for children and their families.

You will learn play-based activities that intentionally incorporate and model how to tinker with new ideas, accompanied by a kit for making various digital, analog, and Internet of Things (IoT) materials accessible.


Tap. Scan. Play. | March 6, 2021 at 9 am

An introduction on how to integrate digital fabrication and contactless technologies into your space to support a media-rich environment using technologies such as Bluetooth, QR Codes and NFC (Near Field Communication), plus how they can be integrated into business operations and the physical world to connect with your community and clients. 


A Window of Wonder: | March 13, 2021 at 9 am

A show-and-tell webinar on how to use a window as a screen and a canvas to spark curiosity and conversation. Together, we will co-create a set of window clings with story starters that incorporate traditional early literacy and early math literacy into their design. Each participant will receive a set of window clings within 30 days from the session, depending on the mailing location.


Exploring communities online and offline for intergenerational learning | March 20, 2021, at 9 am

We will explore different ways to map stories of community members. Learners will receive a kit with materials to create an interactive map during the session. After an interactive presentation about storytelling, learners will have the opportunity to participate in a free flow session to create their interactive map. To receive credit, learners will need to share an artifact of their project.  


Tinkering with Tactical Textile | March 27, 2021, at 9 am

Learners will explore a variety of textiles that can be used to make tactical play items to promote sensory learning. Learners will be provided loose parts to make play items to use in their learning environment. 


Paint what’s Possible | April 3, 2021, at 9 am

We will introduce ways to embed specialty paints (like chalkboard paint and electric paint) into your environment. The facilitator will show and tell ways to use specialty paints in your learning environment to engage learners in discussing what’s possible and documenting their thoughts.
